Seattle

              My visit to Seattle was extraordinary and I got very lucky as well. I was in 8th grade and In my science class Mr. Jauregui said that whoever had the best of grades in that class would get picked to go to Seattle and I was one of the lucky ones. It was a trip to the national park and it was one hour away from Canada as well. It was amazingly beautiful. There was many and different variety types of animals. We were sleeping in dorms but in the middle of the woods. So when it was bed time we had to keep the sleeping area clean and throw anytime of food away or else rats, racoons, deers or other type of animal would try breaking in and eat the food. It's a great city too. Something I disliked though was that it was always chilly outside and would rain most of the time. You don't see the sun come out or get a warm feeling. Furthermore; another thing Seattle has is that their food is very expensive, comparing Los Angeles, Callifornia and Seattle. It's less expensive here. But either way the economy system is currupt in the whole wide world especially United States.

Reading Autobiography

Reading has not been of much importance to me. But when I was a little girl my mom and dad would always read me a bed time story. I loved it when my mom read “The Three Little Pigs” to me. Also one of the books I read in school was “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. But the most interesting book to me was “ The Three Little Pigs” that my mom would read to me.

       The book the “The Three Little Pigs” was most interesting to me, because the wolf in the story would always try to capture the three little pigs. But unfortunately the pigs would always run away from the wolf so that the wolf couldn’t capture them. I laugh at the story because the pigs would always fool the wolf. But not just because the three little pigs would fool the wolf did not mean the wolf would stop trying to get them. Even though, the three little pigs would always build different type of houses the wolf would always blow them down. Until one day came, the pigs built there last house. They built it with cement blocks and the wolf came huffed, huffed, and huffed and couldn’t blow the house down because it was to strong to get blown down like he had done with the rest of the houses. So he came down the chimney while it was on fire, he fell got burnt and died.

I don’t like to read but when it comes down to reading something I like and it’s interesting to me then there is no problem. The first time I actually took the liberty and patience to read a book was in the beginning of my middle school year. The book I read was “The Tale of Despereaux”. I thought it was an amazing book and one of the best books I had ever read until this day. But not just that the good part was that there was a movie attached to it. After I finished reading the book and watching the movie I was astonished on how both exactly they were.

         When I was in elementary every morning my teacher would tell my classmates and I to sit down in the middle of the class and she would read us a chapter of a book. But it wouldn’t catch my attention and I wouldn’t pay attention because I was talkative in class. But once I hit the 4^th grade my teacher Mr. Kon would read to us as well at the beginning of class for about thirty minutes everyday. But what he had was a collection and that is where he would read to us from. At the end he told us he had read until the 30^th book of the collection he had. I thought those were many books he had read out of the collection he had but still did not pay attention.

        By the 5^th grade my dad bought me a big book that had short stories in them for example; “The Beauty and The Beast”,”Pinochio”, and”The lion King” they were all fairy tales but I liked it the way because it had pictures in it. Even though,n the only cause I would read it was when I was bored or just for fun. I don't know why but once I leveld up in school I still had thoughts of a little girl and only liked books with short stories and pictures in them. Even though reading was not interesting to me I had wished I was.

          Now that im in high school as a senior I believe my wish has been granted since I wished reading would interest me. I have realized over time that it is important to but not just that knowing what you've read and comprehend. moreover

Fast Food

Today, many people eat fast foods instead of home made food. The reason is that fast food is fast, cheap and convenient. However; at the same time, fast food is contributing to a big social problem in the U.S, which is obesity, and recently some people are beginning to sue the fast food companies for causing them obesity. Should the fast food companies have responsibility for people’s obesity? My answer to this argument is “NO”. I think that whether people eat fast food or not is an individual choice. There are many people who eat fast food but are not obese. They may do some exercises for burning calories, or thy not to eat fast food as much as they can, caring for their health. Moreover; some fast food companies serve relatively healthy foods, such as Baja Fresh, Subway and so on. Even though do not have enough money on time to eat except fast food, they can choose those fast food shops. Therefore; the responsibility of obesity should be taken by obese people, though fast food companies should also take actions to decrease the number of these people by showing their food’s calories, serving healthy food, and giving more choices.

As I said before, in the U.S some people are filling suits against fast food companies for causing their obesity and related sickness. It is clear that fast food is not so good for our health. Fast food contains a lot of sodium, fat and cholesterol, and these ingredients’ makes us overweight. Therefore, some people think that fast food companies should be responsible for the negative effects. However, people who decide to eat it or not, are us. Even though some advertisements do not say their fast food is healthy. Moreover, it has been often said that fast food has bad effects for our health, through newspaper, television and other media. Most people should know these facts. To add to that, as I mentioned before, there are some fast food shops which serve healthy foods compared to other fast food shops, so if people are really concerned about their health, they can choose those fast food shops. Therefore the problem should attributed no to the fast companies, but to individual choice.

The causes of the obesity problem are related to the life style and culture in the U.S, in the end, the responsibility for the problem should be attributed to individual choice, such as what people eat or do not eat. The reason is that we have to take responsibility for our choice as a part of our given liberty. In some other countries, people have longed for the liberty found in the U.S, but American people attribute their obesity problem to fast food companies, they will be the beneficiaries of people’s liberty without taking responsibility for their choice.

In the case of children, parents must assure responsibility for the choices of their children. Parents should monitor their children’s diet. My parents don’t allow me to eat fast food. Although I wanted to go to fast food restaurants, as my parents taught me the negative effects of fast food, I lost interest in it. As if when I lost interest fast food, I worry about my health a whole lot, and started to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables which are healthy for our health and immune system, and that does not cause obesity or other diseases. I know many parents feed their children more fast food than home made food, because in a lot of cases parents work all day and others are lazy to cook and just buy refrigerated food which affects them selves and their children.

To conclude, I believe that people should not attribute their obesity problem to fast food companies, even though the fast food companies proved food which is what causes the negative effects on health. The most important reason is that obesity is the result of individual choices based on liberty. We must take the responsibilities for our choices when given the individual liberty of choice. The obesity problem in the U.S is related to life style, not just food consumption. Nevertheless, it is unfair to wide obesity problems only on fast food companies.
